The Six of Cups is filled with symbols. A little boy is giving a cup filled with flowers to a little girl. There are five more flower filled cups arranged near them. One of these flowers is turned to face the children. There is an X carved on the pillar behind the boy. A man walks away down a stone path. All of these symbols, when understood, suggest the card’s meaning. This card is usually associated with childhood and the giving nature of children. It can represent memories, nostalgia or even abandoned dreams. The simplicity of Today’s Journey Tarot’s Six of Water shows two boys playing in a stream and delighting in the wonderment of nature. They openly share their experience. We are instantly transported back to another time in our lives when we lived in the moment, when innocence dominated our motivation, and we weren’t afraid to share our feelings with others.

Today’s Journey Tarot Five of Water – Five of Cups
The Five of Cups in the Rider/Waite/Smith deck is a rather bleak looking card. There is a man wrapped in a black cloak who is gazing down at three spilled cups. Two full, upright cups are behind him. This card usually depicts loss and regret of what “might have been” or what we “might have done”. I usually call this card the “crying over spillled milk” card. While it is easy to see that he is unhappy, there isn’t a clear indication of why. Today’s Journey Tarot’s Five of Water shows a former athlete reliving his “glory days” by thumbing through his old yearbook. The trophy display from long ago suggests that he is still attached to the past and not fulfilling the potential of now.
