Today’s Journey Tarot Key 3 Creativity – The Empress

The Empress is often thought of as the Mother of the Tarot. She represents fertility and renewal. In the Rider/Waite/Smith deck she sits outdoors in a field of grain. Usually she is considered pregnant although it is not obvious. She holds a scepter and the shield at the base of her chair represents the goddess Venus. There are many more symbols in this card; myrtle leaves, the stars in her crown, the pearls in her necklace – and again we can go on and on. It is a lot to take in. Today’s Journey Tarot shows a young mother-to-be designing the nursery for her child. It is easy to understand that she represents fertility and her creative endeavors on behalf of her child’s nursery further enhance that idea. The Empress is often associated with Mother Earth but Expanding Dimensions chose to keep the woman inside. We did however leave her feet bare to indicate a free spirit who is rooted to the earth. The room is painted green for growth and abundance. Our one indulgence with symbology in this card is the chair rail that she is applying. It has a baby block design with the letters of the DNA strands (GATC), the building blocks of life, where all creativity is manifest.

9-28-14 Today’s Tarot is the Child of Air. Do not limit your thoughts to the same tired worries and concerns. Let your mind be free to embrace positive ideas and create a new direction for yourself. This card is about optimism and new ideas.

Today’s Journey Tarot October Muses Forecast

ARIES – Cultivate your talent. Do something this month to enhance your skills. It could be a money maker or just for your own satisfaction.

TAURUS – Do not second guess yourself. Whatever choices you have made in the past are in the past. Keep moving forward rather than looking back.

GEMINI – Your work may be done and it is time now to move on to something new. Analyze where you are right now. Be honest with yourself.

CANCER – Focus your attention on what is going on around you. There is an opportunity to fulfill one of your goals. Pay attention to the signs.

LEO – Do not isolate yourself. Do something for somebody else. It is the best way to make yourself feel better.

VIRGO – Where is your energy going? Direct it toward creative and positive thoughts and ideas rather than wasting in unproductively.

LIBRA – Don’t worry. Everything is beginning to take shape and balance out this month. It is only a matter of a little more time.

SCORPIO – If you are not confident with the answers you have been given, seek another source of information or assistance. There is always another way.

SAGITTARIUS – Do not give in to impulses. Think carefully before you act. At least consider the consequences and whether it is worth it.

CAPRICORN – You need more information before a decision can be reached. Seek out someone with the answers or search deeper within yourself. Confidence is lacking.

AQUARIUS – Just pick yourself up and start again. It is only life going on as usual, not the end of the world. Learn from your experiences. That is all they are for.

PISCES – Do not worry if others do not seem to understand what you are doing. Just follow your own heart and do what makes you happy!

Today’s Journey Tarot Key 2 Wisdom – The High Priestess

The High Priestess is one of the most esoteric and symbolic cards in the Major Arcana. That is because she represents the seat of symbology, the subconscious mind. She is a link between the seen and unseen worlds. In the Rider/Waite/Smith deck the scroll on her lap contains the secrets of the ages. She is a teacher with much wisdom to share. The symbols in this card include the pillars on each side of her, the moon and feminine principle and the cross on her robe. Today’s Journey Tarot changed this card to simply Wisdom. Key 2 shows a Tarot reader consulting her cards. The Tarot is also a book, just like the scroll in The High Priestess card and it too contains all knowledge and wisdom. For Expanding Dimensions it was the obvious representation of this principle. But the wisdom still remains secret to those who do not seek to understand, which is why the cards remain face down. The reader has the knowledge to reveal the hidden meaning.
