The Seven of Earth shows a girl sitting at the mail box with her back against the post. She stares longingly down the road waiting for the mail. The weather is chilly and she wraps her arms around her knees for warmth. The sky is gray. There are times when we have to be patient. We do everything necessary to ensure an outcome, and wait for that to occur. However we don’t want to spend our whole lives waiting for something. We wait to grow up, get out of school, get married, and get a good job. We are always living our lives for the future. The problem is, the future rarely fulfills our expectations. We use all that time waiting when we could be living the life we have right now. When the future comes we just start waiting for something else. Without putting in the effort and work to create the outcome we become frustrated that our goals are not fulfilled. The girl knows the letter will come because she has done everything necessary to ensure its delivery. The gray winter season is a time of dormancy while we wait for the blue skies of spring. Her green scarf represents the growth the message will provide when the time is right. She also wears orange, the color of sociability suggesting she could spend this time with others instead of alone at the mailbox.
