Today’s Journey Tarot Symbolism from “Today’s Journey Tarot, A Traveler’s Guide” Key 0 Beginning

Key 0 shows a young woman on the floor of her dorm room with her new deck of Tarot cards. She holds the cards in her left/receiving hand indicating that she’s open to the Tarot’s wisdom. The red pennant hanging above her symbolizes fire’s primal creative force. The blue floor, like the water element it represents reflects her heightened emotions of excitement and expectation. The green rug beneath her, the color of the earth supports her new growth. Yellow for the air element represents her willingness to learn. These four colors are also interwoven threads throughout the sweater she wears, reinforcing she has everything she needs for her journey. She has the strength of her foundation and the potential for growth. The cat encourages her to take this journey because he knows, as all animals instinctively do, the journey is life itself.

Today’s Journey Tarot Symbolism from “Today’s Journey Tarot, A Traveler’s Guide”

Cover

A symbol tells an idea, fact, or stands for something else. Anything can be a symbol. Some symbols are the same for everyone. A smile always means friendliness. There are also personal symbols. These are special to individuals. For people who love dogs a dog would be positive, but if you were afraid of dogs it might represent fear. There are no right and wrong meanings for symbols. We use symbols in everything we do. It is just another form of language. The classic Tarot deck is filled with esoteric symbolism that is sometimes difficult to understand.
