The traditional King of Pentacles sits in his garden. A robe of grapes and leaves covers his armor. There are roses and lilies on his crown and a red cowl around his neck. Bull’s heads adorn his throne and his armored foot rests on a stone bull’s head. He gazes down at the pentacle he holds in his lap. This king usually represents someone who is so in touch with the physical world that he knows how to reap its rewards. He does this responsibly and ethically. The Father of Earth from Today’s Journey Tarot stands above his ranch and surveys all he has built. He is obviously prosperous and draws his wealth from conscientious use of the earth. In his boots and jeans, he is the picture of someone who worked hard for what he has, in a practical and successful way. What he builds, endures.
