The Queen of Swords is an imposing figure as she sits on her stone throne. She is intelligent, logical, and intense. She can be intolerant of others’ ideas and unyielding in her viewpoint. Sometimes she is very critical. All of the symbology in the traditional card supports this description. When the members of Expanding Dimensions modernized this image into the Mother of Air, we were looking for someone who seeks truth and can discern fact from fiction. Who better than a judge? The Mother of Air has a stern quality to her also but her talent (represented by the raptor at the window) is her ability to see things clearly. She is never swayed by her emotions, but uses her intellect to determine her truth.
