Four of Earth – Four of Pentacles
The Four of Pentacles depicts a royal miser who is tightly hanging on to the four pentacles he possesses. One is balanced on his head, one he holds against his chest and the last two are tucked beneath his feet. This card is usually described as showing someone who is ungenerous and has an inability to share – money, attention, people, attitudes, energy, or position. Expanding Dimensions modernized this idea into the Four of Earth which shows an affluent woman admiring herself in a mirror. It suggests the same ideas as the Four of Pentacles: there is nothing wrong with material wealth as long as we remember to see beyond our own needs and do not hoard what we possess. The reflection the woman sees in the mirror is only her outward appearance – but that may be all she ever sees.

Today’s Journey Tarot Three of Earth – Three of Pentacles
The traditional Three of Pentacles shows three people in a church or monastery. They are described as a sculptor, monk and an architect. The clothes they are wearing and what each one is doing contributes to the meaning of the card as well as the position of the three pentacles above them. It is not easily apparent what this card means. It is usually associated with mastery of skill or artistic ability – the producing of quality work and the recognition that deserves. Expanding Dimensions, the creators of Today’s Journey Tarot chose to feature the deck’s illustrator, Christopher Wilkey in the updated version of this card, the Three of Earth. His dedication, talent, and hard work were exemplary during the process of creating Today’s Journey Tarot. The card shows him at a gallery exposition of his work, where he is receiving recognition for his incredible art.
