Today’s Journey Tarot One of Earth – Ace of Pentacles

Like all of the Aces in the traditional tarot, the Ace of Pentacles shows a hand emerging from a cloud. This hand holds a large pentacle. There is a garden below with lilies blooming in the foreground. The Ace is the ultimate card of abundance – of what the world has to offer. Expanding Dimensions, the creators of Today’s Journey Tarot felt that the Earth itself was the definitive representation of abundance. The One of Earth simply shows the Earth reflecting the lights of the Universe.

6-7-15 Today’s Tarot is the Eight of Air. Do not lock yourself away from problems. Face them head on and be done with them. Fear is the only real problem and it doesn’t tell the truth. This card is about fear and imprisonment.

Today’s Journey Tarot Father of Air – King of Swords

The court cards in the traditional tarot have many symbolic differences, but years ago, as a new reader I had difficulty distinguishing these cards from one another. The King of Swords, like all the kings, sits on his throne. He wears a crown and holds a slightly tilted sword in his right hand. There is a tapestry behind him and two birds fly in the sky above. For a beginner there isn’t much here to determine his personality or the meaning of the card. We can, however relate to the updated Today’s Journey Tarot’s Father of Air. He is depicted as an airline pilot. We can imagine the intelligence, skill, and even courage it takes to choose this career. He must be cool under pressure and detail oriented. This card represents just such a person who can also be a bit detached (airborne) and very logical. He would take control of any situation.
