The Eight of Water shows an artist who has just completed his latest work, a painting of a fountain. It is difficult to know when we are finished with something, when it is time to quit and move on. Even if the artist is not completely satisfied with his work, he knows he has done all he could and it is time to start something new. It takes a great deal of emotional maturity to know when to quit. The fountain represents an emotional release. The arch threshold is a gateway to new creative endeavors. Yellow indicates the conscious decision he made to walk away and take with him only what he needs. The stone floor beneath him supports his choice. Blue is the color of emotion.
