Today’s Journey Tarot Mother of Earth – Queen of Pentacles
The traditional Queen of Pentacles epitomizes the expression of the Earth Mother. She sits on her throne sculpted with cherubs, goats and fruits, surrounded by climbing roses. All around her is the abundance of the earth including a rabbit jumping through the corner of the card. She gazes at a Pentacle in her lap. The Queen’s energy nurtures the richness around her. She embodies growth and abundance. Today’s Journey Tarot’s Mother of Earth, the modern version of this idea shows a woman caring for a polar bear cub. Disregarding her own well being and comfort, she wears no protection from the cold as she feeds the cub and offers it comfort instead. Her obvious loving kindness is the energy that enhances life. While the Queen symbolizes these concepts, the Mother of Earth demonstrates them.
