The World card is the completion of one cycle and the beginning of another. The Rider/Waite/Smith deck shows a nude figure, draped with a purple scarf. She is dancing in air within a green wreath. There are four figureheads at each corner (as in the Wheel of Fortune) representing, among other things, the four fixed signs of the zodiac. The symbolism here represents the idea that a celebration of attainment is at hand. We have passed certain initiations and will now move to future challenges on a higher level of development. Expanding Dimensions, the creators of Today’s Journey Tarot depict in Key 20 Completion, the same girl from card 0 Beginning. She is grown up now and is a Tarot reader and teacher. Whatever she has learned in her journey with the Tarot, the next level for her – and for us – is to share her knowledge with others, thereby insuring her continued development as well.
