Today’s Journey Tarot Symbolism from “Today’s Journey Tarot, A Traveler’s Guide” Nine of Earth

The Nine of Earth depicts an equestrian and her horse. The woman is well dressed in riding gear and her left hand rests on the horse’s neck. She holds the reins in her right hand. They are in a field of tall green grass. The sky is gray. This card expresses independence and abundance. It also suggests self-reliance and self-absurdness. The rider is at ease with her horse and controls him with gentleness rather than force. She has no doubt in her ability and needs nothing else to control him. The animal bows his head to her mastery. Her affection for the horse is obvious by her touch. She is grounded, with both feet firmly on the earth. The colors she wears and the horse’s coat are harmonious with the earth’s energy, which sustains her. The tall, green grass emphasizes the abundant nature of this scene. She has her back to the gray sky.

  1. Did you mean to use self-“absurdness?” I love your deck and your daily readings, I just wanted to check to see—because that doesn’t quite fit. But you might’ve added it to see if we are awake?

Anyway, have a wonderful day and I totally appreciate all you do! Rachel
